The question of whether the global temperatures are rising or not, is constantly reappearing in public discourse. The global warming hypothesis emerged in the nineties and now the theory test is necessary to confirm or reject the impact of human activity on the words temperatures. What cannot be denied is that the temperatures on the Earth are 0.6 degrees higher than a hundred years ago. What is more the sea level is getting higher and some extreme weather events such as hurricanes occur in some new locations. They show the evidence that over the years the Earth gets hotter and then colder again. That is why the global warming sceptics do not believe that human actions has considerably contributed to global warming. The positive aspect of such debate between the two groups of researchers is the rise of social awareness of the environmental problems that affect our planet.
